KARACHI: Medical experts at a seminar on Saturday stressed on formulation of strict laws for proper disposal of hospital waste and prevention of infection from spreading, Geo News reported.
They said it should be made mandatory for hospitals to have incinerators for proper disposal of their waste so that it may not be dumped outside in garbage cabins because they added that often this solid waste is later picked up and recycled.
These experts pointed out that this waste and syringes are becoming a cause for spreading very hazardous diseases like Hepatitis HIV/Aids.
They said that standard lab practices were also important and must not be taken less seriously because carelessness here could also spread infections.
They stressed on laying down effective rules and regulations by the hospitals in this regard on permanent basis.
